Okay, I Admit It... I'm OCD

I bet you didn't know that, did you? Oh, you did? Great. Now you all know what a basketcase I am.

Eh, oh well.

Because of my OCD, I am an extremely organized person. Organized to a fault, almost (unless you ask anyone I live with and then I'm just annoyingly organized). I love space organizers and stackers and lovely symmetrical things that make my life easier. Have you guys ever seen the infomercials for the Space Bag? Those things are cool. Take one entire shelf full of blankets or sweaters or blankets (I have a lot of blankets, okay?) and compact it into a fraction of the space! Now that makes it easy to organize. I learned that Space Bag is doing a "Clean Your Closet Challenge" through their site, Space Savers, and the grand prize is a private consultation with a professional organizer, a $1,000 gift card to Bed, Bath & Beyond, and enough Space Bag products to organize their entire home! Holy crap. And on top of that, the first 100 entrants will get a free Space Bag, just for entering. So what are you waiting for? Go enter!

PromosLogos Review and Giveaway

I was contacted by the wonderful people at PromosLogos to see if I was interested in doing a review and giveaway. After checking out all of the cool stuff you can customize on their site, I was in! It is more for businesses, but I didn't think of it that way. Imagine how cool it would be for a birthday party, to send all of the kids home with a game or a slinky or even a beach ball, branded with "Child's 10th Birthday, June 27, 2010" or something like that. I think it would be awesome!

They sent me an aluminum mug to review (yes, at no cost in exchange for me posting this). I have a few of these, and I frequently use them during the winter to take hot cocoa to work with me (I am not a coffee fan). The first thing I noticed about the mug is that it has a handle! I love having a handle. When you put something super hot in these types of mugs, they don't get as warm as a paper cup but they still get pretty warm. I really like that there is a plastic handle off to the side so I don't burn my hands on the mug. Second thing I noticed? The lid actually screws on instead of just popping on. I dig that. I have had more than one lid pop off, and once it covered my passenger seat in milk. Blech. I like this mug. It's got great features and would be something nice to send to a customer or client, or even to your Mom for her birthday. Just don't put an age on it.

Want a $25 gift card to get something cool for yourself? I've got good news! You can enter to win just that, right here on my blog! Amazing, I know.

To enter, leave me a comment with what you'd like to get from PromosLogos. It's that simple. Want extra entries? Here's how to get them:

--Follow PromosLogos on Twitter
--Follow their blog
--Subscribe to their blog feed
--Leave a comment on one of my non-giveaway posts during the duration of this giveaway

Please leave a separate comment for each thing you do, or it won't count. Make sure to enter before midnight MST Sunday, July 11th. I will pick a winner using random.org and post them right on this here blog. Mmmkay?

Mom's Nite Out & Pizza Hut

Have you ever heard of Mom's Nite Out? If not, here's a little about it:

The first ever National Mom’s Nite Out is the brainchild and passion of Maria Bailey, internationally known Mom expert and author of “The Ultimate Mom.” National Mom’s Nite Out is a long overdue event and the ultimate attempt to unite moms and companies in celebrating motherhood.

The National Mom’s Nite Out is the first nationally organized celebration of motherhood.

Mom's Nite Out was on Thursday, May 6, 2010 this year (the Thursday before Mother’s Day). There were so many things to do and ways to celebrate, setup by Maria Bailey and BSM Media, it was incredible. What an amazing way to give Moms that night off they so often need but can't get.

I know I am extremely late in getting this information out, but hopefully it can help bring attention to it next year, because I pretty much guarantee it will continue to happen.

BSM Media partnered with Pizza Hut to provide gift cards to mothers all over the country, so that they could order pizza in for the family and then take off to celebrate the night with other mothers and friends. I was lucky enough to get one of those gift cards, but not lucky enough to have that night off. Okay, so I'm only a part-time Mom and I didn't even have Punk that night but still... I worked that night so I didn't get the night off of anything except being a Mommy.

I finally got the chance to use the gift card this weekend and it couldn't have been a bigger life saver. We are in the process of ripping out part of the back yard to level it and put gravel down, so that we have room to park the motorhome and both of our enclosed trailers. We have a bunch of Husband's friends over to help and figured we probably should provide dinner since they were so nice to come help with this monstrosity:

(this is half of the tree that was in the corner - it was a big one!)

When it came time to feed the masses, pizza was the perfect answer. And right now, Pizza Hut has that 'any pizza for $10' deal, so the gift card went a really long way! The pizza was awesome, but even more awesome was that I didn't have to worry about cooking for the boys or cleaning up the mess, I just had to set out paper plates and let them at it.

Thanks Pizza Hut and BSM Media for being so fan-freaking-tastic!

Things Remembered Review

Remember when I suggested Things Remembered for a Father's Day gift? Well, I got to give one of their amazing items to Husband for Father's Day, and it was definitely well received.

What did I give him? A BBQ tool set! And boy, is it awesome. It comes with a spatula, a fork, tongs and a basting brush. Everything you need for grilling! They are super nice, too - stainless steel with solid wood handles, all packed inside a neat carrying case. Wanna see?

Sweet action! These bad boys are huge, too. Husband is amazing with BBQ so I figured these would be perfect for him. He actually likes them, but the best part was when he opened them, he looked at me and said, "Does this mean you are gonna make me cook more?" Yes sir it does! :) Plus, you can engrave both the case and the spatula if you want to!

I would definitely recommend this set of grilling tools to anyone. And yes, I did receive it from Things Remembered free, in exchange for me posting about them, but my opinions are my own and would never be affected by that.

The Bunk Beds Were A Terrible Idea! There's Blood Everywhere!

If you don't know what that quote is from, please go watch Step Brothers as soon as possible and then come back here and read this post. Don't worry, it will wait for you. The blog is like that; all caring and concerned when you haven't seen one of the funniest movies ever freaking made. This post has nothing to do with the movie, but seriously, if you haven't seen it you really need to. If you have a sense of humor like mine. If you don't, then you might not think it's all that funny. But I nearly peed myself multiple times. And a day doesn't go by that I don't quote that movie.

Aaaaaanyway... anyone out there looking for a bed? Because, if so, do I have the place for you! You remember CSN Stores, right? They are the parent site for like 200 other sites that are amazing and you all should check them out, stat. Well, they have a site specifically for beds; twin beds, canopy beds, kids' beds, and the super important bunk beds.

I love bunk beds. If you have kids sharing a room, please get them bunk beds. And then let them fight over who gets the top. I loved having bunk beds when I shared a room with Shibrolet (like Chevrolet, in case you were wondering) even after I fell off the top bunk during a night terror. A few... okay, several times. But it's okay, because I still had night terrors even after I got my own room and no bunk beds, so bunk beds have no direct correlation to night terrors. I don't think.

Back on the initial train of thought, you should check out CSN stores. They really kick ass for finding pretty much anything you ever possibly may need. Like beds.

Silk Pure Almond Review and Giveaway

As I said yesterday, I am not usually a big fan of milk. I just don't like the taste, and I take calcium supplements so I don't need anything nutritionally from it. My crazy family are all big fans of soy milk, and while that's better, it's still only something I buy to put over cereal.

When I was given the opportunity to try Silk Pure Almond, I was actually pretty excited! The idea of almond milk actually sounds really good; I love almonds. And can I tell you? It is pretty good! It's really smooth, with a very faint almond flavor; just enough for it to taste really good. Plus, almonds are really good for you, so any milk from almonds is also really good for you! This milk has tons of antioxidants, vitamin E, fiber and protein. Plus, there are only 60 calories in one glass (of the original flavor). Sweet, yes? When I switched over to buying skim milk, Punk complained that she didn't like the flavor of it. (Punk is actually a milk drinker - she must have got that from RealMom because Husband doesn't drink it either.) But when I put this in the fridge, she drank it without a word. It's passed the yummy test!

Would you like to try some? Because you should! You can either go to your local grocery store and get some, or you can win coupons for free RIGHT HERE! Wow. How do you win? It's simple.

Leave me a comment. Any comment will do, but feel free to leave something comical. No bonus points; it will just make my day. :) Also, make sure I have a way to contact you! An e-mail will work, even if it's in your profile.

THREE winners will be chosen to receive a free coupon for Silk Pure Almond, with one extra special winner also receiving a Silk Pure Almond Chico bag. Sweet deal! Make sure you leave a comment before midnight Monday, July 5th to be counted in the giveaway. I'll pick the winners using random.org.

And for those picky FTC people, yes, I was given coupons to try Silk Pure Almond at no cost to me. But I really like the stuff and will buy it in the future. My opinions posted here are mine and were not influenced by the fact that I got to try the milk for free. Good?

Horizon Organic Chocolate Milk Review

I am not really a big fan of plain milk (the kind from a cow, anyway), but I love me some chocolate milk. It's just so darn good! Add chocolate to something not that great, and you've got yourself something amazing. Chocolate is a cure-all. :) (Have you ever tried frosted flakes with chocolate milk? Do it sometime. It's fantastic.)

I was given the opportunity to try some of the Horizon Organic chocolate milk, and I figured, it's got to be good. It's chocolate milk. But, it's also organic AND it has DHA Omega-3, which if you didn't know, is this cool stuff that supports brain development throughout your life and also supports heart, brain and eye health. What I take that to mean, is that this chocolate milk rocks! For everyone in the family, but especially for the littles.

So, what do I think of Horizon Organic chocolate milk (plus DHA Omega-3, of course)? It's wonderful! Exactly what chocolate milk should be - chocolatey and yummy. I love it, and the Husband loves it! And he is a picky person so that says something. Seriously, it's really good and with the added health benefits, and the fact that it's organic, you should try some and love it with me.

And so you know, I was provided with coupons for free milk from Horizon Organic, but my opinions are not changed based on that fact. They provided me with information about the milk, but I chose to post my opinion all by myself.

Sex and the City 2 Soundtrack Review

How many of you out there love SATC as much as I do? I just recently started watching reruns on TV, and I so wish I could have gotten in on it much earlier! I am totally loving the show.

I saw the first movie, and really liked it. I can't wait to see the second one! (Yes, I am totally behind; I know.) But, thanks to One to One Network, I got to review the soundtrack to SATC2. And I loved it! It definitely has the feel of SATC to it through the entire album. Here's the tracklist:

1. Alicia Keys “Rapture”
2. Dido “Everything to Lose”
3. Cee Lo “Language of Love”
4. Erykah Badu “Window Seat”
5. Natacha Atlas “Kidda”
6. Michael McGregor “Euphrates Dream”
7. Liza Minnelli “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)”
8. Ricki-Lee "Can't Touch It"
9. Alicia Keys "Empire State of Mind (Part II) Broken Down"
10. Jennifer Hudson and Leona Lewis "Love Is Your Color"
11. Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon “I Am Woman”
12. Sex and the City Men’s Choir “If Ever I Would Leave You”
13. Sex and the City Men’s Choir “Sunrise, Sunset”
14. Sex and the City Men’s Choir “Till There Was You”
15. Shayna Steele, Jordan Ballard, Kamilah Marshall “Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered”
16. Liza Minnelli with Billy Stritch “Ev’ry Time We Say Goodbye”
17. Cyndi Lauper “True Colors”
18. Aaron Zigman “Divas and Dunes”

My favorite song is definitely the Cee Lo song, because it's really upbeat and fun, but the entire soundtrack is really good. Liza Minnelli does a killer remake of Beyonce's Single Ladies song. The soundtrack even features the ladies of SATC singing, which is awesome.

Go out and see the movie, and then pick up the soundtrack (you can get it at Amazon)!

Okay, It's About Time For Some 'After' Pictures!

You guys remember the before picture, right? ...Right? C'mon, it wasn't that long ago! Here's a refresher - before Crest 3D White.

I told you I would take pictures at 1 day, 5 days and 10 days so y'all could see the difference, but I totally forgot to take one at 5 days. Der. Anyway, here are the 1-day and 10-day results!

After using Crest 3D White for one day:

After using Crest 3D White for ten days:

I don't know if you can see it from the pictures or not, but my teeth are definitely whiter! I did experience some sensitivity while using it, but not super horrible or anything. And it really did make a difference in the white-ness of my teeth. If you are ever in need of some really good whitening, and you want it fast, I would recommend the Crest 3D White line for sure! I am a big believer now.

The toothpaste and the mouthwash are really fresh and minty, which I like. And the whitening strips? They are incredible! They have this new advanced seal technology that keeps them on your teeth, and seriously, they do not go anywhere. I actually had a somewhat hard time getting them off my teeth. I would rather have that problem than them not staying in place for the 30 minutes you are supposed to wear them.

I was provided with this line of whitening products for free for review, but I write this based on my experience with using them. I was not forced to write this, and I was not forced to be positive about it, I just actually like it! Mmmkay?

Happy Father's Day!

To all the Fathers in my life, as well as the rest of the Fathers in the world, Happy Father's Day!

Enjoy it. Because tomorrow, it's all back to normal. :)

Happy Birthday Shibber-Me-Timbers!

Why yes, it is completely chrome. Thanks for asking!

I just want to give a big ol' HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the best little sister on the planet! And my favorite Shelby ever, even when you count the cars. Dude, I love you and you know it. I'll never be able to top the birthday present you gave me last year, but I'm still trying.

And in true sister fashion, I'm stealing your idea... Here is the top 21 things I love about Shelby, on her 21st birthday! (WOOT! Go buy some beer! :D ) These are in no specific order.

Oh, PS - I wanted to do a video but I don't have sound at work (shh, I'm not blogging from work...) and I was worried there would be some sort of hidden F Bomb or something I couldn't hear. Don't judge me. Pretend this is a song: "Happy happy birthday, from all of us to you! We wish it was our birthday, so we could party too! Happy happy birthday, may all your dreams come true! We wish it was our birthday, so we could party too! HEY!"

1 - I know I can always cheer you up, just by doing the crab dance
2 - You love driving big vehicles, even though you seriously cannot park them
3 - You are my bestest friend ever and I know that even when we don't talk for weeks, we will pick things up like it was just yesterday we last talked
4 - When you are blonde, you look just like me but now that you have brown hair, people have no idea we are sisters :)
5 - You always just go with it when I give you a new nickname, like Shibby or Shibrolet or Shibber-Me-Timbers or Shelaxin or Shib Shibby Shib Shib or Shelby Woo... the list could go on and on
6 - You give me retarded nicknames right back
7 - You are everything I'm not - super girly, frilly, scared of going fast and driving on the freeway...
8 - ...I think that makes us even closer
8 - You have forgiven me for all of the horribly rude things I did to you when we were young. I blame mom & dad for all of it, because they made us share a room and you just wouldn't keep your stuff where it should be! LOL
9 - You are afraid of my cat
10 - You are such an animal lover, that you pet my cat even though you're scared of him
11 - You are a fantastic auntie; all kids love you!
12 - You are the most disorganized person I have ever met
13 - And it makes me laugh every time I'm at your house, because it always looks like the dryer exploded
14 - You own more underwear than I do, which is miraculous
15 - You put up with me petting your face and/or grabbing your elbow when I need to talk to you
16 - You rub the soft stuff on your face just like me
17 - You love cupcakes as much as I do
18 - Your purses could easily fit you inside of them, and that's okay
19 - You watch the OC with me until all hours of the morning (totally my guilty pleasure)
20 - When we are in the other room, neither our Daddy or my Husband can tell the difference of who is talking
21 - You introduced me to my biggest online obsession, P-Dub.

So on that note, I'll just say, I love you more'n my luggage! Thanks for being the best little sister EVER!
