Tropical Traditions Review and Giveaway

Tropical Traditions is a great company that has plenty to offer! Not only do they have amazing virgin coconut oil that they extract themselves, they offer herbs, TONS of organic foods, skin care products, household cleaners, and more.

Tropical Traditions sent me some coconut oil to review, as well as a great book about their oil. For a period of time, my mom was into herbs and the benefits of living naturally, and she's always told me about the great benefits of coconut oil. As I've learned over the past few weeks, it’s an amazing moisturizer and does great things for scars and stretch marks. Something I didn’t know was that you can cook with it! The book they sent me is full of recipes using their coconut oil, and they are pretty good. If you only use a little, you can’t taste the coconut flavor at all [which is good for our house because C HATES coconut with a passion] but if you’re looking to add coconut flavor, you can use more. Something I haven’t tried yet, but want to, is making a coconut curry with the coconut oil. Sounds delicious.

I’ve been using my coconut oil so far for moisture! Rub it on instead of lotion and it works wonders. It does leave a bit of a greasy feel to your skin when you use it [go figure, it’s oil] but it’s great for elbows, knees and heels. Put some on your feet and then put socks on before bed and you’ll wake up with soft feet. Seriously!

I have a ton of scars [bullet bike accident, skin cancer, accident prone…] and the bad ones can start to itch really bad when my skin is dry. So, I’ve been putting the coconut oil on them and it seems to really be helping! I like the coconut oil a lot.
